- 1 lbBarilla spaghetti or penne
- 1½ lbground beef
- 1onion, diced
- 1bell pepper, diced
- 3garlic cloves
- 1 cupGoya Spanish-style tomato sauce
- ½ cupGoya manzanilla olives
- 1 tspBadia ground cumin
How to make it
- 1
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add 1 Tbsp salt. Cook the pasta 1 minute less than the box. Drain, saving ½ cup of the water.
- 2
Peel and small-dice the onion. Dice the bell pepper. Peel and mince the garlic. Drain the olives.
- 3
In a wide skillet over medium-high, brown the ground beef 6–8 minutes, breaking it up, until no pink remains. Drain extra fat.
- 4
Add onion, pepper, and garlic. Cook 5 minutes until the onion is soft. Stir in cumin, tomato sauce, and olives. Simmer 12 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- 5
Toss the pasta with the picadillo and a splash of pasta water. Serve hot. Cheese on top if you want it.
